Derpy Hooves Rainmeter by SonicPants Derpy Hooves Rainmeter by SonicPants
Edit2: Replaced the Apps section of the T.D.A. switch with weather and extended the More Apps pop-out bubble.

Note: You will need to retrieve your weather code from weather.yahoo.com for the weather part of the skin to work. How to get this code is explained in the Instructions.

Edit: Made it in .rmskin format for easier installation.

It's finally here! The Derpy Hooves Rainmeter has arrived!

I'm really happy with how this one turned out, sure took me a while to finish it. The preview does a pretty good job of describing the skin so I won't bother with that sort of thing here.

The skin is also almost completely customizable by the user. Be sure to look at the Instructions and Config when loading up the skin for more info about that sort of thing. Also, it is what I call an all-in-one skin, meaning one .ini controls the whole skin.

How would I change the apps that are displayed in the "Apps" bubble?

There is a file called Instructions.ini in the Documents>Rainmeter>Skins>Derpy>Resources folder that explains it best. Just scroll down to the App Variables section.

And those changes are to be made in the Config notepad file, correct?

If you mean the download for this skin, it's at the top-right. If you mean the download for rainmeter it's at rainmeter.net on the homepage.

This looks awesome, i like it a lot. The only thing, I want to change is the format of the time. Is there a way to do it? It's 12:00 but I want 24:00.

Yeah that's pretty easy to do, you'll need to open up the Derpy.ini file with a text editor like notepad and use ctrl+f to search for "Format". The part you need to change is labeled under "[MeasureTimeHM]" all you have to do is change Format="%#I:%M" to Format="%H:%M" then save the file.

Cool, the rainmeter manual has some really good information and examples in it and can be found here: [link] and then if you've got some specific questions just send me a note and I'll see what I can do to help.

An explanation of the weather meter is given in the Instructions part of Config-Help. From what you're telling me it sounds like you're using the wrong type of weather code. The right weather code can be found by going to weather.yahoo..com, entering in your location and then using the string of numbers at the end of that webpages URL.

If that doesn't work you may need to replace the RegExp variables in [MeasureWeatherRSS] and [MeasureLocation] with the RegExp of a weather skin that will work for you.

Thank you! It's working. As you said, I use wrong type of weather code. I get weather code at [link] not weather.yahoo.com. Anyway, it's amazing :)

Just wondering, what would I need to change if I wanted to set the default to the weather app instead of the time app? I'm trying to combine this with the Rainbow Dash rainmeter skin since RD's lacks the weather app.

Sure that's easy enough, on all the weather meters like "[CurrentTemp],[LoTemp],[HighTemp],etc." you'll need to delete the "Hidden=1" variable for each meter and then add that same "Hidden=1" variable onto the time meters that look like "[TimeHM],[TimeS],[TimeAMPM],etc."

If you're still using the derpy shell you'll also need to add/subtract "Hidden=1" from the meters [Shell-Weather] and [Shell-Time]

That should be all you'll have to do.

Very nicely done! I would suggest putting this is the .rmskin format [link] and submitting it to the Rainmeter Group here on dA. This looks like a "Skin of the Month" candidate to me...

Wow! I must try it. :)
Personally I don't use RSS feeds, bus a weather display instead of 'em would be perfect.
Great job!

Yea I was tossing around idea's last night and I'm either going to change one of the rss feeds or most likely, I'm going to replace the Apps section with weather and then just extend the "More Apps" pop-out bubble.

You won't have to wait very long, just updated it with weather :D

It won't work until you put in your weather code in the default variables but that's easy enough to do and it's explained in the instructions.

Let me know if you encounter any problems though :)
